I found out Testors is going to increase prices by 44% like the end of June. Any colors you use a lot of you might want to stock up on.

I heard that the price increase was supposed to take effect on May 16th, tomorrow. 46% is what I heard. Whatever the case, the standard $1.99 1/4oz. bottle of Testors enamel will now cost you almost $3.00 now! That is wild!

I thought they were getting out of the model paint business. Or was that just them discontinuing the Model Master line?

Maybe it is tomorrow, I don't recall the exact date.
Testors is owned by Rustoleum. In fact, the crazy thing is those Testors spray cans are already like $6 each, I just go buy Rustoleum 2X coverage in a box store and get like three times the paint on sale for like $4. It's fine for anything that doesn't need a specific color match, like if you're painting a building kit or something.

I’ve been experimenting with craft acrylics and artists acrylics for a bit and there seems to be some promise there. The amount of paint per dollar is much more reasonable, and the results are just as nice if one takes the time to prep the model properly.
I also use decanted Krylon in the closest color to match specific projects. Not so much with generic models. I have yet to try my stash of Tamiya acrylics (those are supposed to be increasing in price also!)
