It's certainly similar to these units that I see in downtown Seattle when I ride the Sounder in.

A couple of very different gondolas from me: The first is a Cumberland Valley GE gondola that I scratchbuilt: I also finished up my ICG Centralia gon, built from a Walthers Thrall gon and using Kohlberg decals:

I'm trying out some new wheels for my Brekina Peterbilts and Kenworths. I think I'll save the fat front tires for another project. These are 22.5" wheels which are fine but I think I'll go with 24" wheels on the others.

Nice stuff guys. I've been continuing on my recent string of small cleanups on existing models. I've become a big noticer, and subsequently a stickler, for numerals and other data. My old opinion was the minutia of our hobby would lend itself to small discrepancies being small problems, but I've truly come to the other conclusion due to this. An inch is a big deal whether we are talking locomotive ride height, numberboard tooling (Athearn GP15's all have too narrow a board, much like Atlas' offerings), and on down the line to the very artwork of course. When Athearn came out with GP40-2's a few runs ago, I had ordered the GTW 6420. Not only have I shot it, it was on lease to the CSX during the time I am focused on. Upon delivery i noticed the odd number font right away, and vowed to correct it one day. Before: After, with my designed artwork: Numberboards are out and up next.

Wow, those numbers are completely different. Nice work! Once you see differences like that you just can't unsee them.
I had a similar realization with Athearn's artwork on their Transcon semi-trailers. The more you look the more errors you see. I need to get the airbrush out so I can paint some trailers and try out those new decals.

Nice stuff guys. .... Numberboards are out and up next. How are you going to do the number boards? The number spacing on their Oakway SD60s is off and I'd like to change it to match the photos. While I'm at it, might as well change them so not stock. With some encouragement and inspiration from Ryan, I drew up and printed new cabs and truck sideframes for some Atlas C30-7s. Here is the first one with a couple Scale Trains SD40-2s. The rear truck is new, the front is stock Atlas. I also added KV models radiator grills and cores. Happily, they just cleared the speaker I'd put in the space. They will have ESU decoders. I put the decoders in about a year ago and am still learning how to optimize them. Pay no attention to focus stacking artifacts or quick garage wall removal. I couldn't find the "straight handrail" filter in photoshop. Maybe the next release.

I would love to see more of that C30-7! I can see the difference in the rear truck already. Nice work!

As soon as those radiator screens are back in stock I'm going to order some.

While I'm at it, might as well change them so not stock. My initial plan was to just strip the plastic and apply my new stuff the same way, behind the glass (although that's not prototypical in this instance.) That didn't work and the removal involved sandpaper so I will now just be applying paint to them. I tried a decal but it wants to rip when it wraps around the edges..
