My B&M Portec covered hopper arrived from Atlas a few minutes ago. I'm very pleased with its finish and detail. It comes with four teeny-tiny blue parts in a small plastic envelope; I think they may be a pair of brackets for the rooftop walkway and a pair of tackboards; they're almost impossible to see.

UPS dropped mine off yesterday evening. Very happy with them. I found the tackboards referred to above on the parts diagram, but not the other pair of even tinier parts.
Not sure if I'm enthralled with the trucks, though. At the very least they'll be getting .088 wheels since they're so visible. Might also replace the draft gear with Moloco.

Here's a quick shot of the end cage with the brake detail. Great picture, great close up, looking very good indeed. I must say that my experience with Atlas has been very good. Nice model and 100% reliable. I'll keep my eyes out for these.

The small parts are tack boards and AEI tags. If you look at the parts diagram you will see the part number for the AEI tag POR3000-068-001 but you won't find an AEI tag installed anywhere on the model. The tack board part number is POR3000-067-001 and it is also not installed on the model.

Has anyone received a WW car yet? Is the yellow of concern as pointed out above?

Has anyone received a WW car yet? Is the yellow of concern as pointed out above? Dear favorite GP40P-2, Yes. As suspected, the Atlas pics are REALLY bad, so the car isn’t as bad as it could’ve been, but it’s pretty frustrating. The blue is actually a decent fade for the anyone modeling around the mid-80s onward, but the highlighter yellow is gonna be tough for anyone, especially someone modeling them newer. It’s like they used that nasty repaint yellow as their ref, even though they were provided great information to prevent that from happening. Tooling is very nice, except for a few very minor nitpicks. I hope to be able to get mine to some semblance of acceptable, but I’m not confident. I’d almost rather start drawing decals….

Delta Dude:
That is not good news, I need one for early/mid 80s use; there is no significant weathering that will help for that era. Strip and repaint, but the decals out there are for the PS car. I am glad you attempted to enlighten Atlas, disappointed that they didn't listen.

Got mine. (MILW) I like it. Wasn't sure about the trucks until I painted the sideframes and wheels. Much improved since my previous Atlas purchase. I do like the draft gear box. Again, much improved.
