I have those same clips for years. I think there were three in a pack. Useful! True. They spend 99% of their lives hanging from a shelf but earn their keep that 1% of the time when they are needed!

Closest available match to Rapido action yellow in spray paint form at my nearest Canadian Tire. I also methodically checked the other box stores and none had anything close to this.

That old Cat or new Cat yellow? I always preferred the old yellow. It was brighter. Which ever, it looks good.

Looks like the new Cat yellow, more of a mustard color, as is Action Yellow. Good tip, now to see if anything close to this is available in the US. I've heard Chevy Engine Red is a pretty good match for CP Action red. Been reluctant to try it because what I've found in the auto parts stores has some kind of heat resistant ceramic in it, so I'm skeptical about how thin it can be applied.

The dreaded painting stage is now behind us. Evan, note the ladder assemblies in top corner.

When did the Cat color change from brighter to the current "mustard" yellow? '70s?
Also, Railbox changed from a brighter yellow to the current color. Same time frame?

I used to have the exact date but around 1978. They removed the lead which made it dirtier, browner/grayer. It used to be very yellow. Cat provided the info to me. In my files someplace.

Yellow, red and orange are all colors that were changed. The reformulated versions leave out a component(s) that seem to have them fade much quicker..ie: BNSF an orange. They may be more expensive, too. It seems the last time I bought automotive paint red was nearly twice the price of others.

Unfortunately, there is no single decal "set" that covers everything needed for CP Rail yellow 437110 so here's what will be needed.

I've tried it, came out way too orange for my liking. Almost CN red-orange. I have been using Tamiya Red-Orange for Action Red and have been very happy with the results. It is almost bang on the color that Bowser uses.

Glad to hear what you think about Chevy Engine Red. That said, I can always use CN red-orange! Have not seen Tamiya Red-Orange in their spray can line; maybe I should take another look. I'd rather use an airbrush but have no place to set up and do so.
Rustoleum has Chevy engine red and Chevy engine orange, and various shades of red and orange are available for farm equipment. More investigation needed.

Sides and cupola were decalled at the same time and given a spray of dullcote once dry. This van uses very few decals despite all the sets I needed to buy.

The color number in some paint lines is the most important info. Some companies rename paints.

I think I did a test shot of that and thought it was too red. Will have to give it another shot when the humidity subsides. Vallejo Bloody Red was pretty close I thought, but the paint never seemed to cure completely.

Smaller bits got the spray treatment also. I don't want some pieces shiny while others are dull, as would happen if these small bits were hand painted.

.039 steel wire has been used for more strength along roof edges. This had to be revised a couple of times.

Windows and top grab irons installed. I decided to delay installing the angle grabs and storm doors until the walls are mounted in place because I wanted to leave room for my fingers in the very small platform areas. Don't want to crush those delicate parts and there is very little room to work!

We are in the home stretch. Other than closing up the body, trim boards were added, body work to seal up corners is done along with paint touch up and minor weathering.
