He might have went mad finally dealing with the complex ACF 4600 project and from seeing green boxes in his sleep now he's living along the mainline in a tent or worse yet a tent made of green boxes š³ he might be making hobo videos now on YouTube.

Rodeo or round up season in Wyoming and making a little extra cash? Iām surprised that he hasnāt stepped into this thread. Hope all is well, as I am hoping for more 4600 ACFs. I finally picked one up recently and it is a <<<very>>>> nice model and could use some others besides a C&NW.

Not sure how the 4600s have done either š¤! Now that you mention it, wasnāt there supposed to be another batch of CNW 4600s? If you arenāt looking for new road numbers, Trainworld still had Arrowhead CNW cars as of a month or so ago. |

Hardly any press/reviews on his grain elevator book. I never bought a copy, but would have at least liked to have read a review to see if it was worth it.

As noted earlier, Bob the Train Guy does show them as in stock.
But.....I've yet to hear anybody mention that they've actually taken delivery of one from any vendor.
The pics seem nice at least....
Edit: MB Klein showing "out of stock coming soon".

Maybe he got hit by a bus or something, I guess until he pops up or someone on his behalf there's no way to know. Short of someone close enough to go visit in person.

Flakiness tends to be considered a character flaw, and like any small company I assume Mr. Hadfield feels strongly about his reputation. He was an obvious no-show at St. Louis, as was apparently this CR car. I can understand the possibility of trouble and bad news from the factory, or just bad luck, but the radio silence for months doesn't bode well for some temporary trouble. The brand is the most important part, aside from getting the product to customers, and it sure seems to me like he is letting it go.

has Arrowhead EVER had a very good reputation?
He made nice models, but there was always shenanigans going on in the background. The whole stupid box thing, constant bait and switch, 'announcements of announcements of announcements', extended periods of radio silence, the list goes on and on.
I was considering getting one of his Railgons back when those came out, but at the time I felt I had better places to spend my money and getting that car kept dropping down the priority list. When I saw they sold out at my dealer, I can't say I was all that disappointed. I've never even looked for one since.
This far from the first time Arrowhead has seemingly dropped off the face of the earth, but I think this time it is permanent. When a company starts taking people's money but no delivering the product, that is a sure sign of the end.

I sent him an email when this thread started and I haven't heard anything back from him yet. I wouldn't think he would ghost out, but signs are not looking good. Was he a complete one-man show or are there other's on the team? Last website post appears to be Father's Day.

Arrowhead was never located in Utah. All of the announcements and production happened after Blaine and family were settled in Wyoming. I bought his book. It was excellent. Worth buying if you are interested in beautiful photographs and engaging prose; he did a lot of research and there is a lot of fascinating history. |

Interesting. I think it was modeltrainstuff that just last week got in a bunch of PC coal hoppers. Hopefully he didn't go out like this and is instead revamping his website or switching providers. |
