I read somewhere he was in a bad car accident. arrowheadmodels.com no longer has a valid security certificate so I chose not to try to navigate. Maybe someday we will find out what happened.

I and another member messaged the store where it was to occur and the book signing was canceled because Blaine was unable to make it. Here is the number to the store so you can call to confirm. 307-674-8080. His accident must have not been very bad because he attended a book signing some months later. This is America where you takes your chances. Aka- tough. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps. Get a 2nd job. Learn to code, etc. Not the way I do business, but it's a hyper-capitalist dog-eat-dog jungle out there. The olde saying "possession is 9/10s of the law" is true. Thankfully most of the rest of the world does not operate like this (been there, experienced that)
About 30 years ago sued a driver in a vehicle hit-and-run case and won. The judge told me, with the defendant present, quote: "Just because someone owes you money doesn't mean you're going to get it". And sure enough, I didn't. At the time I thought the judge was a dick, now I realize he was just being a True American, telling me how it was gonna be. Some people may not like hearing this but I'm just telling it like it is.
Currently about 40% of my clients are late-payers. 10 years ago it was about 10%. It costs me time and money to collect, and I hear all the excuses.
I have no idea why he's not refunded money or why there's a lack of communication. But I do know that zero communication means "y'all ain't gettin yer stuff "

I'm only out one hopper, but I'm sure many bought lots of them since they are meant for unit trains. I know it seems like people are beating a dead horse, but I can't blame them for wanting to know what happened and if they will ever get their money or their product. Considering Blaine was doing work for Rapido late last year he was obviously well enough to give an update to people, but he didn't. I can only hope that the reason he hasn't given an update is because he's still trying to resolve whatever problem he's having to get Arrowhead going again. Baikal's probably correct though, unfortunately.

I don't understand how anyone is "out of their money". Are people really that stupid to not use a credit card for a preorder? A simple charge back with their CC will get the money back in short order. Especially if the company that the order was placed with does not respond to the CC when the charge back is placed. If you didn't use a CC, then yes you are a sucker. Get with the times. |

Years ago I asked a friend of mine in Minneapolis whose family came up in the local pro wrestling promotions a bit of an "insider" question, his response was simple "I could explain that, but the answer isn't as interesting as you'd think"
I think we are looking at a similar situation here, and much like professional wrestling the only thing real is the dollars, and people are out a few over this. It's very unfortunate.

it's a figure of speech, relax edward.
i'm in nobodies camp here, i'm just saying it's highly unlikely we see a resolution to this and that the explanation is likely a guy got in over his head, hit a set back and had to get out with the money one way or another. I've seen probably a hundred or so fly by night bedroom record labels lose their ass trying to put out an LP or 7" in similar fashion.

Lets use some common sense here. Who in their right mind is going to gamble on paying attorney's fees to recover a couple of hundred dollars? I can't so much as issue a statement about my business without paying a lawyer $600.
Out of the people even out low thousands, who is going to spend attorneys fees on that in hopes that they may get it back after months of legal back and forth. Even tacking on attorney's fees to a case is at the whim of the court. Then you have the hurdles of actually collecting your judgement.
Then let's address charge backs on your card. The maximum most card companies cover is 60 days. It wasn't clear he was going to run off with the money until late last year when the order was placed in June of last year.

It doesn't hurt to reach out to your CC company. Pre orders may have different terms / conditions. It may be 60 days past expected delivery. Each card / company is unique but they do have your (their customer) best interest in mind.
