Received my new fuel tank and trucks for the C-636 today. Have not put the tank on yet but it looks nice. Maybe tonight I can get it installed. Since I had already lowered my C-636 may not use the new trucks.

Got mine today, too - perhaps an evening project is at hand here. Impressive Bowser included the entire truck vs. just the gear tower part that determines how high/low the unit rides. I expected to have to tear down the trucks, though in reality I probably will have to take at least the sideframes off as I don't want to undo the wiring harness - as I did on the last fix, I'll just use the original truck electrical pickups.

Got mine Saturday. I have completed one of my three IC 636's and the process went per the instructions just fine. The model looks great and runs flawlessly. My thank you goes to Lee and all the folks at Bowser for the great customer service and response. Looking forward to the next batch of C636's. Gary.

Mine arrived today as well! I really look forward to sitting down and installing them, hopefully before the weekend. I am going to work with the extra set of truck for an upcoming project.

Thanks John. Just as I started to read your post, the doorbell rang once. Must be the postman since they never ring twice. "They're here!!!". And I must say that it is a great improvement on your model Btw... Way toooo clean. Needs a mud bath. JL

Since I already lowered mine all I had to do was install the fuel tank. Looks pretty good. Comparing the bottom of the tank to the trucks it looks perfect, at least to me.

I may have to consider a couple IC's now. Looks good. So if i buy a couple I can get the trucks.

That's a huge improvement over the "stock" first-runs. Kudo's to Bowser to admitting their mistakes and fixing the errors.

...now they look like the "monsters" that I recall seeing, the fuel tanks always looked like they stuck out so far they'd hit things and so low they'd bottom out, so yes indeed, kudos to Mr. English and company!! We have one club member with a sound equipped BN unit and I think they nailed the Alco chug of these beasts perfectly...

I made an email request to Bowser about a month ago requesting the replacement parts for my three locos. In the request I asked for confirmation of my request but never received an answer. Since then I've resent the email request two additional times, still with no confirmation response.
At this point I have no idea if my requests were even received.
Did anybody else get an email confirmation?

I received a reply to my e-mail...."Will send, Lee". Now, here I am in Pennsylvania, and no parts yet.

If you emailed Bowser, they should get back to you. They had stated the best way was to email them directly.
I was just there a couple days ago, and there were still some IC C-636 units in stock...not sure what other units were still there (I was looking for Reading stuff at the time).

Mine came on Saturday. I have a number of projects ahead of this unit get its upgrade and tests.
I got an e-mail reply indicating when the parts should be finished. I have dealt directly with Bowser before. A class group that sets a high standard. This response puts an exclamation point on that example. We're not talking about just trucks and fuel tank here. We got the whole truck assembly. the tank, new couplers (because the pocket has been lowered) and a clear instruction set,.
I will be buying more from them soon. Larry llxlocomotives.com

Those locomotives look great, thanks for posting the photos. Now, I think we can all take a collective “sigh” of relief that this matter has been put to rest. Way to go Lee and the Bowser team!

I don't remember another manufacturer offering engine replacement parts like this to fix issues?

I don't remember another manufacturer offering engine replacement parts like this to fix issues? Kato did with the HTC sideframes. Bowser went to a lot to correct the issues and should be praised for it. i will have to buy a couple IC's down the road.

I don't remember another manufacturer offering engine replacement parts like this to fix issues? I remember some body shells that were replaced because they were not right.

Bravo for Bowser!
I read the Athearn announcement and misread where it said bulbs would be installed in the replacement shell and thought (hoped) it said LEDs installed. Moot point for me since I returned my LV units because of the color.

Following up on my earlier post:
I called up bowser this afternoon and they said that they hadn't seen my email requests.
They are now going to send out the replacement items.
Hats off to Bowser.

Wow! They look so much better. I had buyers remorse after getting my engines, but I kept them. I emailed Bowser back in December, but never heard back. I resent it tonight and hopefully I will get a response soon. If not, then I will call them after tomorrow. Great job Bowser on making them right.

Well, I will have to call Bowser tomorrow and let them know about one tiny little mistake. It involves the Demo units ONLY. Their gray does not match the gray from China on the new tank. New gray has a yellow tint to it. No big deal for me. I'll just pull out the old 4 barrel airbrush and crank up the air to about ten thousand pounds. That should do the trick!!!! Heck, I'm still happy that Bowser has gone the extra mile for us. They will get all my business from now on. JL
