Bummed, I don't even know if their is another hobby shop with train stuff in the Denver area. Back to mailorder for me Many of us already rely on mail order; there is one small hobby shop in my area but they have very little HO. I rely mainly on MBK and have a few alternate places I go to; Caboose Hobbies was one of them. Full MSRP has always been a non-starter for me, always. The loss of Caboose Hobbies will leave a vacuum. I suppose this could provide an opportunity for some of the existing vendors to take up the slack and hopefully be better off financially.

Just noticed Caboose Hobbies has posted some info on there website for those modelers who had pre-ordered (reserved) items. It looks like most items have been covered. It also indicates the CB pre-order price will be honored by the new suppliers (unless the importer raises the price since announcement ). Bob

Transition is a nice way of saying, we are tired and done!!!!! LHS really are having trouble staying alive. Larry The majority of the LHS I been in lately have been ran by old and tired men counting the days until they closed the store's doors and retire and with the current MSRP and on line competition that's happening at a alarming rate.. The sons or daughters wants those 80,000 a year jobs and have no desire to stand behind a counter like Dad did all his life.

Yeah.
I guess running a hobby shop just isn't as glamorous and high paying a job as it used to be.

A hobby shop isn't really a way to make a living and has often been a retirement en-devour. Can you blame the sons and daughters who have kids to support and college educations to pay for for not wanting to take over a shop that has marginal ability to pay the rent and put food on the table?

Gone!!!! Gone!!!! Gone!!!!! Sad but true!! Never more will I visit Denver for model trains. Larry Between Caboose and Mizell's wall of trains Denver could be expensive to visit. Caboose was so busy the airport screeners were not confused when an engine went through the Xray machine. Suprising how the metal parts and wires look when under Xray. End of an era sadly.
