The box was revealed to allow the modelers to know what to look for in a hobby shop, IMO. It's no mystery. Packaging is one of the things that set the model apart from its' competitors while on the shelf. Then, you go over to take a look at the box...and voila. Trouble is, we're so used to seeing the models on different websites...that the very idea that someone would take the time to show what type of packaging might seem over the top to some.
It's no different, IMO, when compared to the OMI Boxes...those green boxes!! Or the Kato HO scale Locomotive Box. You know what you are getting when you buy one. The same is true with Arrowhead. Just compare the door latches on the ExactRail 3737 to the recently released Tangent UP Beth quad. Not even close. Compare the new H39 hopper underframe details with the Tangent PS 2750...or brake detailing. Sure, both are high quality models, but the fidelity in tooling is superior (IMO) on the ExactRail quad and now the Arrowhead Models H39.
As a longtime advocate for better models, I personally couldn't be happier. It's a tough crowd, that's for sure.

An environmental consulting firm I used to work for had an office in Portland Maine. Soooo... back on topic. The AH models were supposed to ship out on the 10th. It's PM on the 13th, any one get any shipping notices yet? I haven't seen anything yet either. But I also placed my order on the 10th, so I'd expect there are many ahead of me. Given this is the first release from a new company I'm a little more wiling to give them some leeway. And honestly we don't even know if Arrowhead has many/any employees, Blaine could be boxing these up in his garage by himself. if Blaine didn't live so far out into the wilderness we could drive over the garage, have some satay and beers, put on the Kadees, box 'em up, get it done.

Does that mean Arrowhead will sell through hobby stores? Because many of the new companies are only selling direct...

It could be worse on this car. We could still be left with having to build Progress Rail Road's undecorated kits, which are less trucks and couplers. And in case you haven't seen one, I mean kit, flat sides, Plastruct Tee's for ribs, angles for corner braces. The center sill was a milled Plastruct I Beam, drilled for truck screws. Had about 100 parts. Cross bay dump doors had to be built up as well. Straight rod stock the modeler had to bend for grab irons. A real kit. Saw one a couple of days ago, made me shutter at the thought....

He has a shipping update on his Facebook page...stated they are trying to get all orders shipped by today...
My guess is by tomorrow...or Monday at the latest.

Blaine and crew have been working late into the night. Received an e-mail at 0127 hrs (Eastern) today that my cars had a USPS tracking number and I would suspect that they will leave the beautiful hamlet of Sheridan, WY later today.

Jim;
Back in 2000 my wife and I drove from Ft. Worth up to Yellowstone and to the Powder River Basin. From Cheyenne, we crossed the Snowy Range Pass and then into Yellowstone from Jackson Hole, and you are right, it is gorgeous! We are planning a trip to Yellowstone next year to take our kids. Can't wait to go back.

The H-11 series will be very cool, as well. This creates a mini-dilemma for me, as the NYC Line from Mt. Carmel to Cairo was operated by early NS starting in late 1982. That makes the Southern H39 and the future H-11 cars a fit as well...and would allow me to push my era on the Joppa Sub to the mid 1980's...However, the mines on the ex-C&EI were in their death throws during that time, and all were closed by 1987...leaving only the traffic at Karnak to pick up, and a few pickups along the ex-C&EI.
I would most likely operate the line as summer 1984...when the MP canaries started showing up...but Jenks blue was still clearly in the majority...and in good repair.
It's going to be interesting, that's for sure.

It could take quite a while for the next project to be announced since the Arrowhead Models were produced in the closed Affa-Tech factory.

My pair was waiting for me when I went home for lunch. Both were different numbers than what I had ordered, but they're different so that's not a big deal. I just liked 666667.
The fantastic boxes evidently need some refinements as one of the cars was thrown to the end, knocking a cut bar loose. An easy fix, but as prices increase I tend to be less tolerant of such things.
In the couple moments I glanced at them, they looked like excellent models and I look forward to weathering and re-weighing them. Hopefully somebody will do a nice P&LE hopper I can run with them.

>Both were different numbers than what I had ordered, but they're different so that's not a big deal.
When I get this kind of feedback, I am interested in two things: One, I want to make the matter right for you. (Naturally, you need to get what you order.) And two, I am interested amending our systems of practice so that these kinds of issues are less likely to reoccur. As of the present, our protocol separates the tasks of pulling orders and packaging orders. In this way, each order is double checked by two different people.
Lets take this conversation off-line so that I can get some details about your order. But, you have my full attention, let me fix this for you.
My best,

Again, not a huge deal as they ended up different but they're not what I ordered. No damage in transit that I can see.

I have been investigating the issue, and we have identified the root cause. It relates to how the SKUs of our PRR paint schemes correspond to certain road numbers in our system. In effect, there is a mismatch between some of the road numbers that one views in the cart vs the road numbers on the model. All of the road numbers are accurate for this prototype, they just may not be the road numbers people expect to see (as mentioned above). I will be reaching out to all of the affected parties to ensure a good resolution, and we will make updates to the website so that tomorrow everything is in order.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly at contact@arrowheadmodels.com.
My best,
Blaine Hadfield Arrowhead Models

Yes, my PRR don't match what I ordered. I'm OK with it and don't need a resolution. I verified against the box and invoice and see the mismatch.
