The Southern Pacific's Sunset Limited or a heavyweight Santa Fe Grand Canyon Limited. Walther's did the Santa Fe heavyweight coach. I allways thought they would do more Santa Fe heavyweights.

A return of the P70 project and the Valpo Dummy, or maybe the GM&O Plug with a bonus (non-powered) Ingalls and a shot glass.

I would like to see a SP Sunset limited.

I always wanted to see a model of C&O's FFV pulled by a 4-6-2 with flying pumps.
For those that may not know flying pumps was in C&O case dual air pumps mounted on the boiler front.

I'm guessing whatever train it is will be diesel powered, E or F units.

I really want a Phoebe Snow, but since I don't think that's going to happen, I'll say Illinois Central City of New Orleans.

In this environment, it will be interesting to see if they get enough orders to spend $1,000+ plus buying a passenger train. Also, I am not sure that they are going to produce anything that is not a widely modelled railroad or something that is going to require an extensive investment in tooling. They also will want to pair it with a locomotive they produce. Walthers has a propensity to go back to the Santa Fe well for more water, seemingly every other year, so maybe they will produce another Santa Fe variant as was suggested by westerntrains. I might be interested in an SP Sunset Limited. We'll see.
I have the Rapido Ski Train on order, so that will probably consume most of my budget in the coming year or so.

2021 is the 50th anniversary of Amtrak, and they have E and F units, I'm guessing early Amtrak, some locos, cars in full Amtrak paint, the rest patch jobs.
Maybe they'll surprise us with a new loco, FP7/9?

I never heard of a Walthers planning an FP7, just a guess.
If it wasn't Amtrak's 50th I would have other suggestions, but I'm sticking with early Amtrak.

I'm with the others predicting Santa Fe. Not that Santa Fe's a bad choice but it totally misses the easy pickin's that a 50th anniv. Amtrak train would be.

I looked and they are expecting the FP7 in December, total guess on my part.
No question Santa Fe sells, I was thinking if it's a road they didn't do in the past, Amtrak made sense with the 50th coming up.
And if it isn't Amtrak I was thinking it's about time they did one for the railroad that was in their hometown Milwaukee Road, and I see the FP7's will be in Milwaukee paint also.

I'd like to see the Peninsula 400. They already have the Bi-level cars to start with. Alter the window arrangements, throw an E unit at it and your good to go. It'd be an easy win for them. (Aside from cashing in on the Amtrak anniversary.)

I'll second the NCL, although they might try to leverage existing tooling and offer a different era 20th Century (as they did with the 60's version Broadway, which sorta flopped).
Please no more passenger cars with sound.

To be honest, this is always interesting to me. What is going to be so special that I would want to buy the whole train? The NCL is one that I have except for some very specific cars. A number are already from Walthers. With few exceptions, I am sure the same is true for other famous trains. It is great to have someone want to build them, is the market more for collectors? It seems like it would have to have some unique features for me to sell the cars I have and buy an all new train.

I'd like to see them produce Officer trains of all the other Class I railroads, except UP since they've already done most of the cars.

I'd like to see a 60s era combined Super Chief/El Capitan. The hi-levels were only run once about a decade ago and the plated Super Chief cars are getting super expensive on ebay.

OK, with the 50th anniversary of Amtrak, an Amtrak Broadway Limited, then.
I can't think of any train they could bring out that would fill an operating need for me, but if they made the Panama Limited or the City of New Orleans, that might just catch my eye the same way that the first run of the Hiawatha did. They already have the tooling for a few of the IC cars.

The "classic" 1980 version of Amtrak's Pennsylvanian. It is the 40th anniversary of this train this year! A new Walthers Mainline F40PH and three Amcoaches!

An Alton Limited or Ann Rutledge hauled by the incomparable Ingalls 4-S would be the crown jewel of any railroad.

Something different to consider, how about a Ringling circus train? Hmmm, kind of an upgraded version of the "Great Circus Train" series they did back in the 70s or 80s?

A Seaboard Air Line Silver Meteor or Silver Star. If I couldn’t have that Southern Railway’s Crescent would be my next choice. It’s been far too long of a drought for Southeastern passenger car modelers.
