This is actually a slightly different car, as it's a combo door box. The BN painted car is interesting as it retains GN reporting marks.

Yeah, this is going to be another pain in the wallet. I can see getting probably one each. And there are a bunch or pre-orders in to pipe many of us are committed to. I'll have to poke Nick to see what's coming next.

As far as what's coming next, Nick tells me PCF will finish and ship by the end of this month. So perhaps 2 months after that arrive stateside.

They had some sample pictures on FB recently they said there's more work to be done so possibly a few more samples before production.

Sorry about that yeah that's the Brainerd cars yeah so far no update on these I'm also waiting to see the 50' hy cubes can't wait to see those but no update yet I got pre-orders for all their releases.

I've noticed any announcements with existing tooling seem to ship soonest and new tooled models take longer, for what it's worth.

The car in the above drawing, a plug/slide, will be available in only 20 GN numbers.
The double sliding door will be done in 11 numbers.

This thread prompted me to check my pre-orders with Moloco... holy mackerel, between the St. Clouds (GN), Brainerds (NP), and Omahas (UP) my credit card might just melt. But if you model the PNW in the late 60's/early 70's it's worth it...

Since they likely won't come in all at once, I think I can survive the onslaught.

Thomas, This is a strange comment, why would give up on the waffle boxcars, do you not want them anymore? We have shown several samples of them along the way and we received the final samples and had them approved. We believe our customers want their cars to be accurate in all aspects rather than not. Nick I gave up on the waffle boxcars; and will just buy a couple of cars if I can find them here and there...too much sitting out there for me. |
