I cannot say that I am a refugee from the Atlas forum as I never joined it, but I did lurk there for the past 6-12 months. It is because of the Atlas forum that I have taken back up model railroading as a hobby since I dropped it about 15 years ago when I went to college.
I will miss the Atlas forum, but I will help to make this forum the place to be. Donnell, thanks for setting it up.

This long time Atlas forum lurker and rare contributor appreciates the opportunity to join up. Maybe I won't be such a stranger here.

Guess I CAN post as a guest !
.... Might want to change that to avoid spammers ! ....
I tried to register under my user-name that I've used on all the forums (Mark R.) for all the years I've belonged to them. However, it wouldn't allow me to used that particular string - it has to be consecutive letters or numbers - any work-around for that ?
Mark.

You might be able to insert a no-break space between "Mark" and "R." Try copying: Mark R. into the name field at registration. I've inserted a no-break space between "Mark" and "R." If it works, though, logging in might be a pain. I don't know how to type no-break spaces. For this, I inserted it into a Word document via the Insert Character feature and then copied it into this reply.

Hopefully this can work out to be a place where the same type of info, and other things, ;D, will be disseminated. Without the rancor. I was a member at Atlas for 10 yrs. Got great ideas from a lot of quality modellers.
Regards, Rick

Thanks for creating the new space. Hopefully this will take off into something good too. I've attached a picture from my SCL Railroad to see how it looks. It is the South Clearwater, Florida area. Attachments:

Hi, folks. I was going to unsubscribe from all of the other forums I just joined, and spend more time building and running trains. Nothing against them, mind you. Then I saw your new forum and decided to get on board here. It already seems like home, thanks Donnell.

Thanks Donnell. I haven't been overly active at Atlas or modelling as of late, but I do appreciate your effort to create a new home for us.
